With the rapid development of Chinese non-governmental organizations(NGOs),greater importance has been attached to this community. As the United Nations(UN)has been playing a vital role in the internationalization of Chinese NGOs,a study on the relationship between these two is of great significance. In this paper,I intend to picture the status quo of the relations between Chinese NGOs and the UN under certain institutions.By an analysis on the first hand material such as resolutions made by the UN Economic and Social Council, reports by the Chinese NGOs in consultative status with the UN and by the NGO branch of the Secretariat,it came out that Chinese NGOs have built a close relations with the UN under UN NGO formal arrangement such as the Consultative Institution and Association Institution, and informal arrangement such as the United Nations Non-Governmental Organizations Informal Regional Network(UN-NGO-IRENE)and the Conference of NGOs in Consultative Status with the UN(CoNGO).Under the Consultative mechanism,Chinese NGOs had frequent communication with the UN in the process of consultation applying,NGO attending the UN meeting and submitting the quadrennial report.Under Association Institution,Chinese NGOs communicate with the UN by attending the Annual DPI/NGO Conference.Under the UN-NGO-IRENE and CoNGO,Chinese NGOs maintained a most close and stable links with the UN by running the UN-NGO-IRENE /the Asia-Pacific Reginal Network with the NGO branch of the UN and presenting the general assembly of CoNGO.The Links between Chinese NGOs and the UN have varies of features under different institutional.Institutional links between these two was built at 1995,these links have and will be fostered steadily in the near future.
