A Tentative Study Of Deng Xiaoping's New Era Military Education Thought

Deng Xiaoping,as the core of the second-generation collective leadership of the CPC,has made great contributions to the national defense and army building with his Marxist theoretical courage,realistic spirit,and rich experience and wide vision.Inheriting and developing Mao Zedong's military thought,Deng's new era military education thought has realized bringing order out of chaos comprehensively and pioneering and innovating in the military education field,which constitutes the repository of military education theory of our party and army and has a great and far-reaching significance.In the process of leading the whole Party and army,Deng Xiaoping has always given great attention to the military education of our army.Faced with the destruction of the ten years of the Cultural Revolution and changes in the theme of the world,he has tactfully put forward that "we should attach strategic importance to education and training",strengthening the cornerstone of our military education status which is like a thousand of things waiting to be done;focusing on the world's new military revolution led by the rapid development of high technology,he requires that military education should "face modernization,world and future";pulled by "modernization of national defense",he repeatedly stressed that "nurturing modernized military talents" is the goal of modern military education;centered on the fundamental requirements of military education,he insisted “the army should be built like a big school" and realize the integration and interaction of socialist modernization construction with the modernization of national defense through the cultivation of military-civil universal talents;focusing on combat power upgrading,he has proposed standards to measure the success and failure,gain and loss of military education.The birth and formation of the series of major theoretical fruits are inseparable with the theoretical origin of the Marx,epochal conditions of peace and development,the four modernization construction practices,as well as individual leading factors.The formation of Deng's new era military education thought has experienced the historical stages from initial brewing to mature developing,and then to rich deepening.The features of distinct contemporaneity,strong practicality and highlighting innovations manifested by its spiritual core,not only fully reflect the basic law of army and military academies building in the new era which is the methods of directing armies under the new historical conditions,but also play a strong role in promoting innovation and development of military education of our army in a new journey of strengthening and prospering our army.
