Research On Development And Evolution Of Contamination-related NIMBY Conflict Events In China

While pushing forward the social and economic development,the acceleration of industrialization and urbanization also catalyzes people's consciousness for civic rights and environmental protection.The construction of some public facilities benefits the whole society.However,it gathers the cost to a certain area,which,as a result,leads to the revolt of local residents and NIMBY conflicts.What's more,contradictions such as these between overall interests and partial interests and between economic interests and environmental interests mingle and interact with each other.Under such macro-circumstances,contamination-related NIMBY facilities,following the labor trouble and land requisition and demolishing,becomes another significant cause for mass contingencies.Exploring the inducements of the contamination-related NIMBY conflicts and clarifying their evolution course are of important research significance in preventing and coping with them.Based on the center-management theory,the social conflict theory and the stakeholder theory,this paper summarize the general situation and causes of the contamination-related NIMBY conflicts by analyzing contamination-related NIMBY conflicts erupted in our country in last decade.In this paper,the author preliminarily summarizes the principal influence factors of the conflict evolution.Then,by generating a system dynamics pattern for contamination-related NIMBY conflicts,the author explores the inter feedback structure and the dynamic evolution of the conflicts,identifies the influences of the beginning,the development and the degenerating stage of the conflict and their relations.Besides,the author,with the help of simulating calculation,studies the development trend of the event in its different development stages.What's more,the author,based on the analysis results,puts forward some stage-style treatment programs as well as some supporting implementation measurements,which,to a certain extent,effectively prevents these conflicts from constant spreading and evolving and helps governments confront and deal with such events in a clear and effective way so as to eventually reduce the scope of influence of them as well as the loss brought by them.
