Research On The Interaction Of Public Opinion And Justice In The Social Media Era

The era of Internet has witnessed rapid social transformation,among which the emergence of social media has comprehensively shaped the society and deepen the interaction between public opinion and justice.The openness,interactivity and creativity of social media enable it to become an effective source of public opinion.Compared to traditional media such as television and newspapers,social media provides a more convenient way of expressing opinions.The influence of social media comes from the participation of the users.Through the continuous interaction of the users,many judicial cases have become public topics,and have been linked up with other media to exponentially magnify the influence of public opinion.Admittedly,the development of social media has satisfied people's needs for communication,expanded the space for speech and promoted the supervision of the judiciary.However,we cannot ignore the fact that in the social media era,the collision between public opinion and justice is fiercer than ever.Privacy and information security are the most frequent issues.Many cases are fermented by the Internet and departed from the normal procedures.The judgments are haunted by public opinion.The professionalism of judicial activities makes the judiciary must be independent from public opinion.However,the essence of judicature is also to realize public opinion so as to safeguard the fairness and justice,in this sense,the judicature cannot be far away from public opinion.In this context,how to grasp the relationship between the judiciary and public opinion is an important issue.The paper will pay close attention to the advancement of social media and explore the causes and solutions to the conflicts between public opinion and justice.Followed by the analysis of the legal practice of other countries,the paper will put forward some suggestions to promote balance between public opinion and justice.
