Research On The Grassroots Organizations Of The Communist Youth League In The Early Days Of The Founding Of New China

The Communist Party of China has always attached importance to the construction of grassroots organizations,among which the Communist Youth League(CYL),as a historical product,presents different historical appearances in different historical periods.In the early days of the founding of New China(1949 to 1956),many things were waiting to be done in China.The ruling Chinese Communist Party paid more attention to the construction of grassroots groups and organizations in light of the need to consolidate political power and build society.It opened an exploratory and pioneering construction process,made the CYL gradually extended to every corner of the social grass roots,played an important role in all kinds of social constructions and the consolidation of the state power,and accumulated rich experience in mobilizing and building experience.As a result,it provided an important example for promoting the comprehensive reform of the CYL at present.As an old revolutionary district,Shanxi Province has occupied an important historical position in the historical development of the early days of the founding of New China,and the achievements of the CYL in the construction are also remarkable.Therefore,this paper takes Shanxi Province as an example,using the existing first-hand historical data,such as original archives,newspapers periodicals and so on,attempts to cut in from the perspective of regional social history,supplemented by the theories and methods of political science,psychology,journalism and other disciplines,to make an investigation on the form and operation practice of the grassroots organization of the CYL in the early days of the founding of new China,aimed to present the basic situation of the CYL at that time and contribute to enriching the study of the regional history of the CYL.According to historical records,Shanxi CYL was traced back to 1920.Before the founding of new China,Shanxi CYL experienced 29 years of tortuous development,and its name and organizational form changed several times at this time.In the past 29 years,the growth of Shanxi CYL has not only shown the deep expectation of the age to the youth,but also contained the belief and practice of the CYL members from generation to generation.What's more,it accumulated rich experience in the construction of League organizations.Since the founding of new China,from 1949 to 1956,the number of Shanxi CYL members had increased from 50 to 710 thousand.It can be seen that the speed of its rise is amazing,the ability to mobilize is strong and the operational effectiveness is remarkable.However,due to various factors,there are also some shortcomings.In that period,the organizational size of the CYL,the gender composition,age composition,education level,family composition and other aspects of the Shanxi CYL(members and cadres),revealed its actual appearance of the development of the CYL in the early days of new China.At the same time,the actual operation of Shanxi CYL revealed the dealing with the relationship between the party and the league,the relationship between the league and the masses and the inherent logic of "the Party,the League,and the masses".In short,the size of Shanxi CYL was rapidly expanded during the early years of the founding of New China.And the CYL's grassroots organizations are almost in all parts of the province.It not only benefited the construction and consolidation of grassroots political power,but also provided a large pool of young talents for the social construction during the transitional period in New China.What's more,it demonstrated the good running situation of grassroots organizations of the Shanxi CYL and became also one of the important paths for the CCP's infiltration of power into the grassroots society.In addition,the practice and experience of the CYL's grassroots organizations in Shanxi during the period has provided an important example for the comprehensive reform of the CYL in the new era.Therefore,this study has important historical and practical significance.
