In recent years, incidents of American police shooting blacks have frequently occurred, threatening the stability of the society and causing people to pay close attention.According to the reporting of the U.S.medias,African-Americans are far more likely to be shot by police than whites, but fewer than one-fifth of police officers involved in the case are publicly identifiable, and even fewer are prosecuted. This has caused people to question the issue of racial discrimination behind the incidents.Through the collection of information,it is found that there is a close link between police shooting black incidents and racial discrimination. In this context, the US media's presentation of such incidents is worth researching. In this study, six media sites, including CNN,NBC,Dallas Watch,Times,The New York Times, and the Washington Post, were selected to collect US police shooting black incidents between 2013 and 2017,collecting a total of 194 articles. After combing, six representative events were selected as the main research samples.Case analysis, text analysis, and narrative research methods were used to analyze the report text from different perspectives. In the end,it was found that any efforts made by the government to improve the tensions between the current groups was not seen. The psychological separation and tension between the public and law enforcement agencies has not been effectively improved.Instead, there have been more frequent incidents of black shootings. There is a vicious circle between the racial discrimination outside the system, the separation between the police and the people;the media can only guide the public to deal with such events rationally through reports, and calls on the public to work together to safeguard national stability and unity. It can be concluded from this that the US media's presentation of such incidents is characterized by a combination of false consciousness and actual conflict.
