China is in a time of economic boom, and there are more and more college students heading toward the road of self-employment. A lot of policies published by the new Central Government for the support of setting up business, such as “the public starts businesses, millions of innovations”, all inspire the entrepreneurship enthusiasm of college student entrepreneurs. The innovative undertaking of college students has played an increasingly important role in many aspects, such as alleviation of difficult employment of college students, promotion of technical innovation, improvement of regional economic development, and so on. When entrepreneurs start a successful enterprise, they create tax revenues for local governments, provide employment opportunities for the society, create value and wealth for the individual, all of these are in promoting the enriched society and the development of the economy. And as the new entrepreneurial group, college students have a lot of differences compared with other entrepreneurial groups, among which the entrepreneurship competence of college students is the most important. What kinds of qualities can guarantee the entrepreneurial performance and success? How to improve the entrepreneurship competence of college students? Both of the issues have become a priority for college students, academics and governments.This thesis takes the college student entrepreneurs in Wuhan, Beijing, Shanghai and Hangzhou as the objectives of study. It combines theory with practice, carrying out a study on entrepreneurial competence of college students and the entrepreneurial performance. The thesis' s research can be summarized as follows: Firstly, the introduction part, through the research background and the review of research status at home and abroad, describes entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial performance, and simply introduces the ideas and methods of this thesis. Secondly, theoretical basis, this thesis describes the theories of “innovative undertaking of college students”, “entrepreneurial competence” and “entrepreneurial performance”. Thirdly, puts forward the conceptual model and research hypothesis, it picks up six dimensions and 21 indicators and builds the evaluating indicator model of entrepreneurial competence of college students based on the reference of a large number of literature, picking up six indicators building the evaluating indicator model of entrepreneurial performance, as well as proposing a research hypothesis between the importance and satisfaction of entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial performance. Fourth, makes the empirical study, it designs and issues the survey questionnaire of entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial performance of college students, based on the obtained sample data, it uses SPSS17.0 statistical analysis software to carry out regulatory factor analysis, correlation analysis as well as regression analysis, obtaining the regression model of entrepreneurial competence of college students on the importance and satisfaction of entrepreneurial performance; Finally, it carries out a discussion on the relationship between the entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial performance of college students, as well as putting forward countermeasures and suggestions for improving the entrepreneurial competence of college students so as to promote the entrepreneurial performance.The study results of this thesis mainly include: firstly, it establishes the evaluating indicator model of entrepreneurial competence and entrepreneurial performance of college students; secondly, it proves that the entrepreneurial competence of college students has a significant positive impact on the importance and satisfaction of entrepreneurial performance; thirdly, all dimensions of entrepreneurial competence of college students have varied degrees of impact on entrepreneurial performance, so each dimension needs to be treated differently with a common development.
