In this century, the rapid development of social and economy play a very important role in education, then which have caused the changes of education in nature, purpose, development speed, scale, content, structure, etc. In order to adapt to the pace of The Times, education is on a deepening reform. Teaching material is the most basic and specific part of the whole educational system, therefore it has became the leading position in the reform. The current teaching material used by students has carried on the inheritance, development and promotion on the basis of traditional teaching material, making teaching content deepening and extension as far as passible, and to meet the demands of a new age. In this paper, three compulsory geography teaching material of high school as the research object, conducting a large number of literature study and questionnaire investigation, coupled with a line in the teaching of all kinds of class view and case analysis to illustrate the new teaching material content reflecting on the efforts and progress, then to prompt its abundant problems, and try to find out the corresponding responses.This study mainly includes four parts:The first part:introduction. This part mainly aims at the research background, significance, and the current research status at home and abroad, and points out the research methods, and carry out the route in this paper, to below a powerful. The development of The Times promotes the advance of education system, and the teaching material content is the carrier of implementing advanced education concept, is the foundation of education experience and practice of the new education idea, a direct impact on the ability development of educators and emotional cultivation. The author combined with the practice of their own for four years life, accessing to a large number of literature, analysis of curriculum teaching material contents and its presentation for the cultivation of high school students' values of their emotion and their abilities whether are synchronized with The Times' demand or not.The second part:to overview the practicability of geography textbook content.First of all defining the specific concepts of practicability of geography textbook content,pointing out that the benchmark from the experience of educators and the demands of the social development, coupled with a line of geography teachers' educational thinking,getting a conclusion that practical teaching material content is to make students want to learn, which can induces the students' interest in learning; Easy to learn, that is, to cultivate students' ability of autonomous learning. In the process, positively to contribute to the formation and development of five kinds of geographic literacy. Furthermore a glimmer of teacher education practice, the teaching material content whether is due to be theoretical in operation so that considering one-sided or not, making a serious evaluation. It can be concluded that the current high school teaching material contents whether focus on life, interesting, process, dynamic, etc or not, for the factors are very conducive to the implementation of the current quality education.The third part:to investigate and analysis the practicability of high school geography teaching material contents. High school geography teaching material content is mainly composed of "activity" and "thinking" "reading" "case", "text" of "image" and other parts, in the questionnaire respectively according to the recognition of students and teachers to ask questions, and to analysis the survey data, finding out the places that need to perfect in the teaching material content.The fourth part:the problems of practicability in current high school geography teaching material contents. According to the results of the statistic and analysis on the last part, the regional differences of teaching material content in consideration is not enough, area coverage and the ideal have a certain gap, which directly affect the operability of the certain activities system. At the same time,the recognition of students and teachers for extracurricular practice are extremely high, but the teaching material is less involving, and they were all thought openness should be pay attention to.The fifth part:Countermeasures and suggestions of improving high school geography teaching material contents practicability. In the fourth part, on the basis of combination with the actual example,further to explore the feasible suggestions of the above problems, pointing out that the actual phenomenon contacting life, and building learning network, links, methods such as literature, appropriate introduction of extracurricular practices that can improve the practicability of high school geography teaching material contents.The sixth part:conclusion and discussion. In this paper, combination with the current advanced education idea to explore the current high school geography teaching material' embodiment to the "practicability" on writing, prompting the parts that still need to work,and expecting to provide help to the development of high school geography teaching material.At the same time, due to the limitation of the capacity of the writer, there are many deficiencies exist in this paper, and it remains to be perfect.
