The curriculum reform is the core of the reform of education, and writing teaching material is the carrier that carries out the task of course reform according to the curriculum reform philosophy.The geography interactive text is one important part of the reform of geography curriculum, because it embodies the theoretic core of the geography curriculum standard, merges " knowledge and skill, process and method, emotion attitude and the opinion of values" ,and makes these three parts a whole system, conceives an idea for the students :studying geography that is a great help to life , studying geography that is useful in developing the whole life and changing the way of learning geography.This paper reviews the achievement of researching geography teaching material in our country, looks back the development of the geography interactive text home and abroad. At the same time the paper defines geography interactive text ,discusses the function and the principle and strategy of designing by comparing two geography interactive texts—The Textbooks of Nine-year Compulsory Education (the experiment one )-Geography,which were published by People's Education Publishing House (PEPH) and Hunan's Education Publishing House (HEPH).In the end ,the author writes a section of teaching material taking Yangtze River for example.This paper divides into six parts altogether.The first part brings forward the meaning of geography interactive text and summarizes the function of geography interactive text by taking two texts— The Textbooks of Nine-year Compulsory Education (the experiment one)-Geography published by PEPH and HEPH.The second part looks back the developmental circumstance of geography interactive text in middle school of our country since the reform and open, generalizes the main line of the development of geography interactive text,that's ,the active teaching- activity program- interactive text".The third part carries out the comparative research on the foreign geography interactive texts .This part concludes advantages of those three textbooks by comparing British interactive text, The Demonstration of Scientific Activity Designing in American Junior High School and American Scientific Explorer -Astronomy.The fourth part demonstrates the academic principle of geography interactive text's designing in the junior middle school by reviewing the theories about...
