Research On Contemporary College Students' Constitutional Education

The Constitution enjoys the highest legal status in China and is fundamental for the security and orderly development of the whole society. In the 4th plenary session of 18 th CPC Central Committee, December 14 th is designated as the National Constitution Day. Besides, the document approved in this plenary session titled The CPC Central Committee's Decision on a Number of Important Issues in Relation to Comprehensively Implementing Governing the Country by Law points out that to realize the rule of law, the country should be ruled in line with the Constitution. President Xi Jinping highlights the importance of the publicity and establishment of the authority of the Constitution in the process of ruling the country by law. In contemporary society, college students play an indispensible role in the construction of the Constitution. Therefore, it is important that the college students be educated the basic principles and systems stipulated by the Constitute. Immediate measures should be taken to promote their awareness of law, their beliefs in law as well as their active participation in various political affairs, which have also become an important part of ideological and political education in colleges and universities.This paper mainly studies the education of the Constitution among college students. First, it expounds relevant theories and reveals the importance of the education of the Constitution. Then based on various research methods such as questionnaires and interviews, this paper makes a summary and analysis of the current situation of the constitution education of the college students and further puts forward some sound proposals including erecting the concept of quality-oriented education, enhancing the teachers' quality, improving educational methods, conducting various activities, expanding the platform for constitution education and establishing an ideal educational environment constituted by family, school and society.It is expected that this paper could be of any help for the development of the Constitution education and the ideological and political education in colleges and universities.
