Participatory approach is a newly developed teaching method in the past 20 years, at present our country's research to the participatory approach has focused on the theoretical framework and its application. Participatory approach is based on The Humanistic Theory, The Cooperative Learning Theory and The Constructivism Theory. It emphasizes students-centered, flexible means to enable students to actively participate in teaching activities and achieve the best results. Although most of the experts and scholars had a research of the participatory approach applied in primary school, middle school and college, their conclusion may remain some uncertainties. On the basis of the predecessors' experience, focusing on The Third Secondary Vocational School students in Jinan, the author has a detailed investigation and study of the effect about participatory approach in promoting students' learning motivation.Summarizing the previous experience, the author has conducted a research on participatory approach applied in vocational school. Students in vocational school have special personality traits and learning situation. Most of the secondary vocational school students have the problem of inefficient motivation. How to stimulate students' learning motivation is the topic all the educators have been interested in for a long time. Focusing on the students of The Third Secondary Vocational School in Jinan, the thesis has carried on a detailed research on the promoting effect that the participatory approach has on invoking the learning motivation of students majoring in accounting computerization.On the basis of the theoretical framework and the previous research results of participatory approach, the author made an analysis of the feasibility that participatory approach applied in vocational education. The thesis aims to provide accurate conclusion for the following questions: Firstly, what' are the main factors that influence students' English learning motivation in the secondary vocational school; Secondly, through which changes of students' behavior we see the promoting effect of participatory approach has on the students' learning motivation; Thirdly, how did the participatory approach organize the whole teaching process to influence students' learning motivation. In order to test the hypotheses, the author integrates the questionnaire, classroom observation and interview to evaluate students' motivation types, the level of students' motivation and students' learning effect.Having finished all the research and investigation, the author draw a conclusion that the secondary vocational school students have weak motivation or lack in motivation. The main factors influencing the vocational school students' English learning motivation is the relationship between teacher and student, self-efficacy, and classroom activities. In the effective factors, the external factors make more obvious effect than the internal ones. After the six months' English participatory teaching, students' learning motivation has the obvious improvement, especially in classroom atmosphere and personal achievements. Through classroom observation and data analysis of interviews, it is concluded that the participatory teaching promotes the development of students' English learning motivation by creating a harmonious relationship between teachers and students, designing novel classroom activities, and providing students with positive teaching evaluation.Finally, the author draws a conclusion that participatory approach applied in vocational school has a brilliant future and some limitations of this study are sample data is not quite persuasive due to the short term investigation.
