With the prosperous development of social economy and culture, and with intensification of the social competition, more and more parents begin to pay attention to school-age children music education training. In order to cultivate children's interest in music, and improve their aesthetic ability, most parents choose the piano learning for children. On the other hand, with the importance of quality education nowadays, the contents of music learning activities outside school also increase gradually. They play a very important role though they are carried out as extracurricular activities. Part of the school leaders and teachers also explore new developmental ideas of reform in education. Some other musical instruments learning like saxophone, electronic organ and so on is added gradually into the school extracurricular music activities besides improvement of the contents and effects. It is not only beneficial to the improvement of students' comprehensive quality, but also good for students arranging their spare time reasonably.The extracurricular activities are necessary definitely in every student's learning life as one important part of school musical education. However, there are still unreasonable phenomena in practice, so that some students can not get good musical education. In case of investigation of three primary schools in Xilinhaote, Inner-Mongolia, the thesis explore the solutions to the problems lied in extracurricular music activities. Meanwhile, the attitude from parents and students on piano learning is also analyzed as the basis of conclusion.This paper will be divided into six parts. The first chapter, foreword, which introduces the reason to the selection of the subject, the purpose and meaning of the research, the contents and methods, the present research state and the innovation embodied in it.The second chapter, research summary, which summarizes the concept and the developmental state of piano education and primary school extracurricular music activities.The third chapter, description of the object of survey, contents and results of extracurricular music activities, which made an investigation among some parents and students through the interview method and questionnaire method in case of three primary schools in Xilinhaote.The fourth chapter, the analysis of the research results, which shows the problems lied in the activities.The fifth part, the path research of building piano education into one part of primary school extracurricular music activities, which analyzed firstly the promotion role of piano education for the extracurricular music activities, and secondly explores the path of solution, for example, the design of teaching aims, methods, contents, modes and the promotion of teaching resources, environmental construction etc.The sixth part is conclusion, which makes an overall summary for the thesis.The thesis aims at that the effective path of solution to the development of piano education in the extracurricular music activities can be proposed so that the all-around development of the musical education can be promoted in minority areas.
