As China's economic strength continues to increase,the people's demand for spiritual culture continues to grow.The piano as the "king of musical instruments" has never been owned by a little of people.To face the huge piano education market,there is no way to meet the ever-changing needs of the masses in traditional piano education for the elite of piano performance.Therefore,the concept of piano education has a new connotation,from the original cultivation of performance elites to the development of elite and popular,universal education.The purpose of learning piano is no longer just to engage in the piano profession,but more to cultivate hobbies and interests,and to improve personal cultivation and comprehensive quality.Primary school piano education is an important branch of primary school music education.As a good way to develop students' intelligence and experience music,the superiority of primary school piano education is obvious.Due to the late start of piano education in China,the incomplete piano education facilities in primary schools,and the relatively weak teachers,the piano education in primary schools is still at the stage of exploration.Only a few primary schools have practiced piano education.Therefore,it is urgent to find a practical practice of piano teaching that is in line with the current situation of music education in primary schools and can reflect the attributes of music education in primary schools.Through this kind of thinking,we will change the predicament of the stagnant piano education in primary schools.This paper combines the traditional piano teaching method with the applied piano teaching method.After discussing its feasibility,it forms the piano curriculum design under the background of “combination of tradition and application” and applies it to the practice of extracurricular piano teaching in Wenlin Primary School.Through the verification of practice,"the combination of tradition and application" provides a reference for the further advancement of primary school piano education.
