Since the reform and opening up, the cause of Chinese art education has made great progress. This paper made a brief analysis on the importance and development of creative thinking education in study process at present primary school and conducted a questionnaire survey of teachers and students and a teachers' interview.The paper found some problems like today's art teaching in primary school has not given enough attention to creative thinking education,the teaching mode of art education is single,the overall teaching quality of teachers' is low and the classroom environment is not ideal. This paper explores the value embodiment of creative thinking in the process of elementary school art education,and emphasizes the fundamental goal of art course education lies not only in cultivating students' painting method and skill,but also in making use of art education to broaden their horizons and improve students' creative thinking ability.Combined with children decorative painting courses, the paper discussed how to cultivate primary school students' creative thinking in art teaching and put forward the feasible suggestions on problems existed in current art teaching in primary school,in order to better conduct art education.The formation of creative thinking needs a long term training and accumulation.In today's general primary education, art classes should be the most special and creative, In art education, attention paid to correct guidance and encouragement of cultivation of students' creative thinking will become a subjective awareness creation,Once this kind of consciousness forms a stable state of mind, it will naturally penetration in many aspects of our life and study. When creative thinking coordinates well with elementary school art education in the whole education process,it will become the a valuable and useful tool, in life and make students own a strong ability to face the changing society and establish of a good life.
