As a unique domain of curriculum," Integrated Practice Courses" become a major bright spot in the coming round of curriculum reform in China. Through research learning, student build up a positive, lively, independent cooperative learning method which is a significant breakthrough training students' spirit of innovation and practical ability. Decorative painting is foundation of art design and it is also an independent course which plays an important role in Art. Decorative painting and modern design compose visual design system and they have been widely used in modern life. By using art and technique as unique way of expression to reflect ideal life, conveying people's aesthetic feelings. Decorative painting is a fundamental course to train students how to experience, recognize and create beauty. It can inspire students' capacity of shaping, train students'awareness of composition, and can help students use color. It also has a positive guiding significance in setting students' color concept, developing students' creative thinking and creative aesthetic taste. Systematic way of studying decorative painting is always used by vocational high schools or college students in fine arts study. Junior students will get a general understanding in this course. It is necessary for teachers to use a acceptable method to guide junior high school students in decorative painting study and use 36 classes to make students understand the form and content of decorative painting, basic design deformation, painting color, composition, and the integrated use of materials to complete the final creation. Based on summarized teaching practice and research on relevant theoretical literature, the author finds some practical suggestions and methods which aim at the junior secondary decorative painting teaching. These methods will use advanced teaching philosophy as guidance and will promote the development of decorative painting teaching.
