With the rapid development of information technology, education has been endowed with more and more informationalized characteristics. In other words, while supporting and promoting education, IT has changed traditional forms of education. At the same time, one teaching form, Flipped Classroom, appeared which reverses the order of traditional pre-class and post-class teaching activities. This teaching form, namely, focuses on transferring knowledge before the class, but strengthening it in the class. Besides, the student-centered Flipped Classroom has gained much attention because it uses a flexible teaching method in order to individualize students'learning. The thought and practice of the Flipped Classroom originated in the United States. And the promotion and support of IT have made the new type of class form utilized by more and more schools and educators. It has been five years since the Flipped Classroom was adopted in our country, during which Chinese education researchers have conducted much research and developed their own teaching method on it. What's more, not only has the model been applied in many subjects, but English, as a language-learning course, are also improved under the impact of the Flipped Classroom. Therefore, whether this new teaching model can bring better results to English teaching becomes a noteworthy problem in research of the Flipped Classroom.Based on this problem, the present research purposes are as follows:First of all, having studied a large quantities of Chinese and foreign literature, the author states, divides, and summarizes the existed class form in this essay. Second, the author conducted research in local schools so as to analyze and summarize the usage of it. "Four steps" Refers to four pre-class stages, including making learning plan, and making learning video, students' self learning, and tracking their learning results. "Five steps" is conducted during class including cooperative inquiry, explanation, consolidation, self-correction, and summary and feedback.Taking the simple past tense as an example, and based on the class model, a teaching design is conducted on learner analysis, learning content, learning objectives, learning strategies, learning resources, learning environment, learning activities and learning evaluation. Then after the previous observation, analysis and test of students'abilities, the author conducted an experiment on teaching of "the simple past tense". In the next stage, the author evaluated students'performance, and interviews were given to some students and teachers, which aims at testing the validity of Flipped Classroom on English grammar teaching and make recommendations of its application. The last part of this research includes a summary, innovation, shortcomings, and suggested research in the future. The conclusions of this study are as follows:1. "Four-Five-Link" Flipped Model can be conducted in the experimental school.2. "Four-Five-Link" Flipped Model is superior to pre-teaching model in teaching grammar knowledge and grammatical competence.3. "Four-Five-Link" Flipped Model can improve student's grammar awareness and promote internalization.
