With the deepening of globalization,as an international language,English is becoming more and more important.China need English talents with strong comprehensive ability,especially communicative talents with excellent oral English.However,at present,domestic English teaching has an obvious tendency of examination oriented education.Schools,teachers and students are all focused on the teaching and learning of English knowledge and neglect the teaching and practice of oral English,which result in the phenomenon of "dumb English".As a new teaching mode,flipped classroom was introduced into China in 2012,and applied to subject teaching.It has achieved certain results in English teaching,and has been recognized by the majority of teachers and students.Under this background,by reading a large number of domestic and foreign literature,combining the present situation of English teaching in middle schools in China,and using questionnaire survey,educational experiment and other research methods,the author applied flipped classroom teaching mode in oral English teaching in middle school in order to improve students’ oral English.The author also verified its effectiveness through educational practice.The main work and result are as follows:Firstly,the author referred to and analyzed a large number of domestic and foreign literatures to define the conception,characteristics and advantages of the flipped classroom and hackle its application in education,which laid the theoretical foundation for the research.Secondly,combined the current situation of English teaching in junior middle schools in China,the author designed the teaching process of applicating the flipped classroom in oral English teaching in junior middle school and the content of the teaching video of the flipped classroom.Finally,through the educational experiment,the author verified the improvement of students’ oral English after using the flipped classroom teaching mode in oral English teaching in middle school.The result shows that the application of flipped classroom teaching mode in English teaching in middle school can effectively improve students’ oral English.However,there still exist problems such as the insufficient preparation of learning materials before class,the imperfect teaching evaluation system,and so on.
