Morality and Society is another combination with Ideological and Ethical, after the Geography and History combined into the Society. It is an emerging subject in the process of a new round of basic education course reform. It is opened in higher grades in the elementary school on the basis of children’s social life, promote the student good moral character formation and social development of a comprehensive course. The effective implementation of the Moral and Social, is very important and necessary to the student understand life common sense, form a good moral character, become a qualified citizen. At present, on one hand, many students and citizens in China are uncivilized, lying, selfishness, indifference, capricious, the phenomenon such as fighting, moreover killing teacher, matricide...Although the moral character of students problems, affected by many factors such as family, school, society, but the dominant factor is in school, the school environment, activities, teaching is an important approach to cultivate the students’ moral character, to raise student’s moral accomplishment and citizens, must starts, elementary school should make great efforts to improve the effect of moral teaching.This study is under the guidance of related literature theory of Moral and Social standard, Moral and Social curriculum, taking higher grades in the S elementary school in Hohhot as the research object, through analysis of questionnaire survey, interviews, observation of classroom and other methods, in-depth understanding of the higher grades moral character and social status of the elementary school, on the basis of analyzing the existing problems and the causes of teaching, put forward the countermeasures and suggestions of strengthening the teaching of primary school moral character and society.This paper will be divided into four parts:The first part is the Introduction. It introduces the research background, research purpose, research significance; Defining the elementary school higher grades, personal character and social; Summarizing the research situation at home and abroad, as the theoretical support of paper. It illustrates the scientific methods needed for the study, as well as the specific steps needed to implement it.The second part is present situation analysis of moral character and social teaching of the elementary school higher grades, namely, analyzing the result of survey, interview, classroom observation.The third part is the analysis of the problems and causes of moral character and social teaching of elementary school higher grades, this part is summarized the problems existing in the teaching process based on the results of the investigation, analyzed the factors affecting the quality of teaching.The fourth part is the countermeasure and suggestion on improving the moral character and social teaching quality of the elementary school higher grades, this part is aimed at the problems in the teaching process and influencing factors, put forward constructive suggestions from the aspects of school management and teachers.
