With the acceleration of the pace of social development and the increase in diversity of social development direction, more and more documents clearly defined that there must give priority to the development of innovative talents. And the fundamental key to promote national development and social progress is cultivating a variety of talents, so talents education is the most important thing which attracts much attention from the country, social and individuals. With increasing strength of competitive sports of our country, we could see an increased emphasis on sports training major in colleges and universities, and in turn it is exploring a professional road which has its own characteristic in order to cultivate a number of comprehensive talents who can satisfy the needs of the development of the society and develop their own quality. Through knowing the current social economic development, higher education reform and the professional requirements for sports training major, this topic was been chosen at last. Using the method of document literature, the expert interview and the logical analysis, this paper chose professional talents training programs from 32 colleges and universities which offer sports training major as the research objects based on region and school types. Through studying present situation of professional education resources, talent cultivation objectives, personnel training specification, and curriculum of sports training major in these colleges and universities and problems existed, the results showed that:(1) the requirements of talents training objectives for sports training major in colleges and universities in cultivating good scientific literacy, noble professionalism, innovation spirit and practice ability are too low, even some colleges and universities didn't say anything, which does not correspond with the requirements of higher education reform. The orientation of talent cultivation objectives is too fixed, the direction is too narrow, and professional characteristics which combine oneself and social demand is lacking, so more clear fixed position is needed; (2) personnel training specifications of sports training major in different colleges and universities have clear levels. In general, it is composed of the basic quality ability, professional quality ability, far-sighted quality ability, professional qualifications and other five aspects. The emphasis of five aspects in different colleges and universities is different. The requirements of the professional quality ability and professional qualification in professional sports colleges and universities are higher than other schools. Normal colleges and universities pay more attention to the basic quality ability. Comprehensive colleges and universities keep a balance in every aspects and no particularly prominent aspect. The requirements of far-sighted quality ability and lifelong learning ability are generally low, and uneven situation existed; (3) in China, the composite structure of curriculum setting in sports training major is roughly same, and there are so many problems:the proportion between compulsory courses and elective courses in most colleges and universities is unreasonable. The boundaries between restricted elective courses and arbitrary elective courses are not clear. The gap of count, class hours, and credits of elective class in various colleges and universities is too large. And professional physical education curriculum was excessive used for reference. Only a small part of the colleges and universities carry out special courses according to their geographical, climate and local folk. In conclusion, the sports training major in various colleges and universities doesn't have their own characteristics and have many problems; (4) most of students of sports training major didn't accept systematical training and assessment before practice. They have poor basic culture and strong athletic ability, which caused they didn't master professional teaching and training methods without combining theory. In addition, the construction in most practice base was incomplete, so it cannot meet the students' demand, school and social requirements for talents. There are loopholes in the convergence of the various links in the practice system, thus students practice system needs to be improved.
