Prospective Study On The Risk Management Of Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games

Large-scale sports event such as Olympic Games are famous for their attendance of VIPs,numerous numbers of participants as well as complex factors.So,if risks occur,damages will be great.July 31 st,2015,along with the success of bid for the 2022 Olympic Winter Games,Beijing has become the first city in the world that has hosted the Olympics Games and will host the Olympic Winter Games.Comparing to the Olympic Games held in 2008,the Olympic Winter Games in 2022 shows its unique characteristics in economic environment,geographical features,climate conditions,organizational models and site settings.Meanwhile,the Olympic Movement has its own need for reform together with international politics and economics are under everlasting changes.The preparation for Olympic Winter Games is facing all kinds of new situations,new issues,and even new risks.It is one of the main tasks along with the preparation to reduce the probability of occurrence of risks and avoid the effects by scientifically and effectively assessing risks,accurately analyzing risk points,as well as keeping eyes on risk changes and avoiding the occurrence of risks and its effection.This article conducts a prospective research of the risk management taking Olympic Winter Games in 2022 as target adopting methods of document research,logical analysis,case study and expert interviews.Based on the relevant documents of risk management,especially the risk management issues of large-scale sports,this article systematically reviews the major sports events and Olympic Winter Games in the past and its risks and gives a risk classification according to function domains,risk consequences,risk manifestation,management factors and occurrence range and time.Mainly drawing on the rick management experiences of the Olympic Games of 2008 in Beijing,this article conducts a discussions about the approaches of risk management of the Olympic Winter Games and gives proposals such as setting up a core management team of risk management,strengthening the co-operation of risk management in the wide range,taking comprehensive risk identification,risk evaluation,and risk prevention by three stages of the Games,before the games,duringthe games,and after the games.Besides,it is also recommended to set up the comprehensive risk management prevention and warning system,risk management response and intervention system as well as the security and insurance systems to strengthen the monitoring and responding of risk management.The research has certain value of reference for the extensive research of risk management of the Olympic Winter Games.
