In recent years, with the development of the society and the deepening and extension of education ecology research, many experts and scholars from different countries have paid great attention to the classroom environment research. Nowadays, the study of classroom environment has become a hot research topic in the field of pedagogy, educational psychology, sociology and scientific education. In our country, the study of classroom environment has also become one of the emerging research topics in the field of education. The research into the classroom environment undergoes from the perspective of students or teachers, for a certain subjects or course in a certain area or school within the scope of measurement or evaluation. The study of classroom environment can help us to know what conditions in class can make students better acquire knowledge, it also can make teachers realize which classroom behaviors have positive effects.Throughout the research of English classroom environment at home and abroad, the author finds no attempt at the research of English classroom environment on rural Mongolian junior high school, which provides certain research room for this study. Furthermore, rural Mongolian students formally started to learn English in junior high school stage. Therefore, it is quite important to help the students to create a good and harmonious English classroom environment in this "critical period".This research adopts the "Junior High School English Classroom Environment Scale", which is based on the "Classroom Environment Scale(CES)", "What Is Happening In the Classroom"(WIHIC), "Chinese University English Classroom Environment Inventory" (CUECEI) and "Senior High School English Classroom Environment Scale"(SHSECES) and also make some modifications to them. It is divided into two versions: student version and teacher version. Both versions have 44 questions and these questions can be divided into 9 dimensions. Each answer to these questions used the Likert five scale. Then, the author utilized the SPSS 17.0 to analyze the data obtained from questionnaire.This study selected a rural Mongolian junior high school:Bao Long Shan Mongolian Middle School, which is located in the author's own hometown.315 students and 10 English teachers answered the questionnaire. The author interviewed 16 students and 5 English teachers among them. Through the result of questionnaire and interview, the author has made the following research findings:the perception level of English classroom environment of the current rural Mongolian junior high school students is in the medium level; Female students and male students have similar perception; Third graders have higher perception than second graders; The perception of English teachers is higher than the students. The study also finds that there are five main problems in the current rural Mongolian junior high school English classroom environment:(1) Students are lack of English-speaking environment. (2) In English class, the teacher adopts traditional and old-fashioned teaching methods. (3) The type of English classroom activity is too monotonous. (4) The students' autonomous learning ability is poor. (5) Teachers fail to give enough support and help to the students. In order to solve these problems, the author puts forward some corresponding suggestions or countermeasures. Through the investigation of the present condition of English classroom environment in Bao Long Shan Mongolian Middle School, some research data and guidelines are provided for the development of foreign language education in both local and other areas of the country. It also has positive significance.
