China is a unified multi-ethnic country.Since ancient times,Party and country have attached great importance to the development of national education.To develop the national education,we must attach importance to the basic education,and mathematics education play an important role in it.At present,the mathematics education of minority nationalities in our country is in a good period of development.But because of history,geography and other reasons,there is still a gap between the mathematics education of minority nationalities and the mathematics education in the developed areas in China.Therefore, it is urgent to strengthen the research on mathematics education of minority nationalities.To understand the current situation of the development of mathematics education in the minority nationalities in our country,summarizes the research experience and characteristic, reflections on problems existing in the study,and then provides the reasonable suggestion for our country minority mathematics education research.This paper makes a systematic analysis on "Journal of Mathematics Education" from other periodicals published during 1988-2015 minority mathematics education articles and introduces the experiment of the reform of mathematics education in minority areas in China and the conference of minority nationalities.The article is divided into three main parts:First of all,the present situation of the research on the mathematics education of the minority nationalities in our country is combed.In this paper, the minority mathematics education articles published in the Journal of Mathematics Education,Journal of Research on Education and so on are selected as the research sample,using the method of bibliometrics,it makes a statistical analysis about 5 aspects of these articles from the quantity distribution, the author’s situation, the research method, the research nationality and the content,which is fully understand the development situation and future trend of minority mathematics education in China.Secondly,this paper discusses the development situation of mathematics education of minority nationalities in the Journal of Mathematics Education.A detailed discussion on the topic of minority mathematics education articles which is published in the Journal of Mathematics Education,introducing the reform experiments of mathematics education in the minority areas of China,as well as the minority nationality mathematics education conference in national colleges and universities.That is to improve the quality of national mathematics education.The article in the Journal of Mathematics Education showed minority mathematics education research in the mathematical culture,mathematics subject experiment has made gratifying achievements.At the same time,the formation of the research team composed of the old and young.Finally,in recent years the achievements made in the study of mathematics education in minority nationalities in China are summarized,and in view of the existing problems,this paper puts forward some reasonable suggestions.
