Since the 1980 s,the accelerating of urbanization process has made the left-behind children to be a special group.As a result of absence of parents' guide,the left-behind children tend to have some discomfort and behavior deviation in their study life,interpersonal interaction and their own psychology.They cannot establish a close relationship to society and others,which provides essential room for the formation of sense of alienation.Though left-behind children have always been a hot topic among the academic circles,researches of alienation usually focus on theoretical research in psychological and pedagogical perspective.In other words,there are few social work applying to the study on sense of alienation.On the basis of literature review,the study carried out the survey according to the questionnaire of “Alienation for Adolescent” which compiled by Yang Dong,et al,on the sample of 146 left-behind children in junior school of the Q county.Through data processing and difference analysis by SPSS,the study draws the conclusions.Firstly,junior middle school left-behind children in the sense of alienation of each dimension in the meaningless,living environment,alienation,social isolation and oppression at home are the four aspects whose grades are more than average grade.The average grade of alienation of life environment is highest,and the average grade of sense of out-of-control is lowest.Secondly,left-behind children's different dimensions of sense of alienation do not show significant differences in gender.Thirdly,left-behind children's different dimensions of sense of alienation show significant differences on whether one-child or not.Fourthly,left-behind children's different dimensions of sense of alienation show significant differences in residence.Based on the results of the survey,this study introduces group work method to intervene students of high sense of alienation,in order to reduce the level of alienation to design a series of methods for group activities.Through five units of group activities,these activities play a role in self-exploration,friendship and affection recalling,so it can has a good influence on sense of alienation.
