The Present Situation Of College Students' Career Adaptability And Its Enlightenment To The Career Development Education

Career development education in China has a late time. It has not yet formed a mature system. And there are still many difficulties in the implementation of the process.It lacks an effective focus. The ultimate goal of career development education is to promote the healthy and sustainable development of College Students' career. Career adaptability plays an important role in the individual career development. Therefore, as the starting point of the career development education, the career adaptability will help to improve its effectiveness.We took two colleges in Henan Province for example to investigate the development situation used <the Career Adaptability Inventory> and < the social support questionnaire>. The study explores the career adaptability development situation and types of College students and the factors. Also, the study examines the correlation between College Students' career adaptability and social support. The results were as follows:(1)College Students' career adaptability level is in the medium, and its internal dimensions is not balanced. These scores are in turn: career concern, career control, career curiosity and career confidence. According to the performance of college students in four dimensions using K- means clustering analysis, the students can be divided into five types: career anxiety, career indecision, career fine type, career apathy and career common type.(2)The factors influencing career adaptability include: College Students' career adaptability in gender, grade, mother's education level, the only child or not professional satisfaction, "to take part-time jobs or internships or not", "to join a club or not", "to hold the post of the student cadre or not" and "to have a career development education related courses or not(such as career planning courses, employment guidance course)have significant difference; College Students' career adaptability in professional, father's educational level and family residence has not significant difference;(3)There is a positive correlation between social support and career adaptability. Social support and other factors have a certain predictive effect on career adaptability.Based on the investigation, we got some inspiration to improve the career development education from the education concept, classified teaching thought, the system of social support and college students themselves.
