Research On The Application Of Portfolio Assessment Method In Senior One Chemistry Teaching

With the purpose of further improving students' scientific literacy,the new curriculum of high school chemistry focuses on students' future development.It balances the needs of the development of students' interest and potential difference.As a method of assessing students' dynamic change and development,portfolio assessment conforms to the educational idea of new curriculum.Through portfolio assessment,teachers can combine curriculum with teaching and assessments,make assessments achievable in teaching,and guide their teaching using the advanced assessment concept to realize the improvement of students' comprehensive ability and qualities.So,portfolio assessment research for students learning is particularly important.At present,some existing researches have studied on high school chemistry portfolio assessment.Because of the first try,there are still some limitations like lacking of the in-depth study.Therefore,combined teaching experience with actual situation of the local students,the author finds portfolio assessment research on students' study of compulsory module one has certain practical value and long-term significance.The purpose of this research is to arouse students' learning enthusiasm and interests in chemistry by establishing chemical portfolio assessment in teaching as well as provide a reference for teachers.Through the study of portfolio assessment results,textbook contents and the objects' characteristics,the author first sets down the experimental research plan and design questionnaires to survey the current situation of Senior One students' interest in learning chemistry.Second,based on the survey results and the interview results with students,the author sets down the contents that need to be contained in the portfolio and then choose Class One and Class Two as the test classes,while Class Three and Class Four the control classes.Through the usage of the survey method,the observation method,the interview method and the experiment method,the teaching practice in these two kinds of classes are researched for one term.Finally,the effect of establishing students' studying portfolio is evaluated through testing the final exam results via Z-test value,comparing the significance levels and considering survey results and interview results.Experimental studies found that there are obvious difference between the two classes.Z0.05=1.960 Z=2.686>1.960.To see from the average results,the Chemistry examination results of the experimental class is 4.07 points higher than that of the normal class.While the standard deviation is 4.23 points lower than the normal class.This shows that the overall achievements of the experimental class is higher than the normal class.On the other hand,the results of the questionnaires and the interviews of the students show that,69.6% of the students believe that setting up the learning recording documents can stimulate the learning interests on Chemistry,while 79.2% of the students think that it can raise up the test results of students.75.2% of the students think that the establishment of the portfolio can enhance students' learning confidence in chemistry learning.The analysis results,the following conclusions: first,through the establishment of chemistry learning portfolio evaluation of high school students,cultivate students' interest in learning chemistry,chemistry learning enthusiasm and improve the performance of the chemical is very effective two,the establishment of student;chemistry learning portfolio in the high chemistry teaching process,students and secondary students learning effect is better than the top students,secondary students had more obvious effect.Therefore,the establishment of student learning portfolio evaluation of students is a effective way to cultivate high school students' interest in learning chemistry in classroom teaching.But because of the differences of students' learning and the differences of environment,portfolio evaluation results are quite different,which needs to be further Research,the long-term effect of the experiment also needs to be further explored.
