Everything is done for the development of each student is the core concept of current high schoolcurriculum reform. The development of students is not only to improve their academic performance, butalso enhance their comprehensive capacity. Other evaluations, especially developmental evaluation shouldbe used besides traditional paper test. Developmental evaluation is a future-oriented evaluation which notonly focuses on evaluation of the past and present performance of the students, but also concerned abouttheir future performance. At present, developmental evaluation has been seen as important value orientationby the school education evaluation reform. As an important part of the developmental evaluation system,the processing evaluation has been taken seriously attention by the primary educators and educationalresearchers. At the same time, portfolio assessment is the most effective processing evaluation.The thesis analyzes portfolio assessment from eight areas: the background and theoretical basis; thecurrent situation and developing trend; the basic understanding; the establishment of portfolio; thepracticing research of chemical portfolio assessment; the typical cases; the analysis and conclusions of thepracticing research; the confusions and suggestions of research.The purpose of research is to explore the impact on learning attitude, habits and the ability ofself-examination of the establishment of chemical portfolio. Besides, try to use portfolio assessment as partof the comprehensive evaluation for the students’ summative assessment. In practice, the author take thestudents of Kaifeng twenty-five high school as the research object based on the using purpose of portfolioand chemistry teaching objectives, and explore the steps, meaning, practical value of the establishment ofchemical portfolio. Some student cases are compared and analyzed from different angles, a summary of thepreliminary results is submitted and some effective suggestions are proposed. All of them providetheoretical and practical basis for implementing high school chemical portfolio assessment.The following conclusions are formed: the using of chemical portfolio helps to change the students’learning attitude, contributes to the formation of students’ learning habits, helps to enhance the students’ability of self-examination, and makes an auxiliary role for improving students’ chemical scores.
