Permutation and combination are one of mathematical knowledge that must be grasped to the science students and the mean by which could improve the ability of generalization, ratiocination and operation. Permutation and combination contain abundant cultural and actual background which could arouse interests of the students,so it is the good material to cultivate the applying consciousness.But permutation and combination contains important mathematical thought,meanwhile,the ways to solve permutation and combination problems are various,which result in permutation and combination becomes a difficult issue for the senior high school students.In conclusion,permutation and combination has important education value,the research on permutation and combination literacy for the senior high school students is very important.The author constructed the frame about permutation and combination through carding the documents about permutation and combination, the these determined 270 third grade science students to the objects,aiming to acknowledge the permutation and combination literacy by literature researching,test method,observation method and interview method.The problem that the author aiming to research are literacy levels,types of errors and cognition barriers about permutation and combination.The conclusion about the research contains three aspects,one of that is the literacy levels of permutation and combination for senior high school students is low,another is the cognition barriers contain mathematical reading barriers,concept comprehension barriers and problems solving barriers,the third one is the types of errors contains concept comprehension errors about counting principles and permutation and combination,listing errors about permutation number and combination number,formula applying errors.According to the conclusion and the characteristics of permutation and combination,the author proposed two pieces of advice for permutation and combination and senior high school mathematical teachers.Primarily, permutation and combination may comprehend the literacy levels about senior high school students by investigation and enrich the subject matters to expand the literacy levels,for another, senior high school mathematical teachers should improve the literacy levels by improving teaching methods,Firstly,the teachers should increase the realization about mathematics curriculum standards,Secondly,the teachers should deepen concept comprehension,Thirdly,the teachers should pay attention to the mathematics thought teaching,Fourthly,the teachers should emphasize the scientific training,Last but not least,the teacher should pay more attention to develop the study interest of permutation and combination.
