With the increasingly rapid development of Chinese urbanization, rural labor force begins to move to the urban area in large scale which resulted in the appearance of new vulnerable groups named “left-behind children”. Scholars of the relevant fields have conducted large numbers of research to them from resent years, however,as a comparably more vulnerable group, left-behind girls still fail to attract enough attention from the public. This thesis would carry out the description and analysis to the living condition of the rural left-behind girls with qualitative approaches to the field investigation to the left-behind girls living in a primary school of l town, X city,Jiang Xi province and propose the corresponding solutions, hoping to provide help to the healthy development of these girls.This thesis consists six parts.The first part is prolegomenon, this part is an introduction of the paper mainly stating research meaning and methods.The second part is to enter the site,including the introduction of the basic situation of research site, the reasons of choosing the site and the identity of the researcher.The third part is the campus life of left-behind girls,including their academic achievement,interaction between teachers and left-behind girls, interaction between the other students and left-behind girls.The forth part is the family life of left-behind girls,including labor burden of them,family education,and interaction between family members and them.The fifth part is summarization and analysis to the conclusion of the features of left-behind girls' vulnerable status and the discussion to the gender discrimination as well as gender stereotypes, the stigmatization as well as the destigmatization of left-behind girls, the influence mechanism resulting from the educational expectation of the family to the academic achievement of left-behind girls and the role played by the boarding schools.The sixth part put forward the countermeasure and suggestion to deal with the vulnerable status of the left-behind girls in rural areas.
