Guiding some newly founded university to application-oriented university is a current hot topic of higher education reform in China,while faculty construction is the key of the transformation and development of newly founded university.Transformation and development of newly founded university put forward new requirements to the faculty construction.With the deepening of the transformation and development,the issues that the original faculty are hard to meet the requirements of application-oriented talents cultivating of the transformation and development exposed gradually. How to build faculty to adapt the requirements of the the transformation and development became a urgent problem to pilot universities.Based on transformation goals to cultivate application-oriented talents and serve regional economic and social development of newly founded university,this paper analyzes the transformation and development requirements of the faculty of newly founded university in aspects of size, structure, quality,etc.On this basis, combined with previous research findings, define the connotation of application-oriented faculty,and proposes that application-oriented faculty construction should be the target of faculty construction of newly founded university.After a full grasp of quantity scale,age structure, academic structure,professional title structure, the structure of part-time teachers, teachers' skills and knowledge structure and other current situation of C College faculty,this paper analyzes the gaps between their current situation and the transformation and development requirements of the faculty construction, and clarify current issues of faculty construction.So as to propose strategies to construct application-oriented faculty for newly founded university from the perspective of the school,in order to provide a reference for faculty construction of newly founded university in the school-based level.
