Nowadays, the competency draws more and more attention. Since the research group leaded by McClelland started exploring in competency in the 1970s, the Competency Movement was drawing the attention and interest of many scholarships. People have researched on the competency from a number of perspectives and acquired enormous useful achievements, but there still are many important questions need being explored, includes the research on the features of competency of specific population's specific aspects. Daniel Goleman once said that IQ contributes only 20% of the factors that determine success. Now. people almost think that the predictive power of the emotional intelligence to one's success has exceeded that of the traditional cognitive measure. There already has researches showing that the level of teachers' emotional intelligence directly affects their teaching performance. So for teacher, as one of the specific population, what kinds of competency features should a teacher possess from the perspective of the emotional intelligence is a question to be discussed.Basing on the analysis of predecessors' researches, the research plans to build a model of competency features of middle school teachers from the perspective of emotional intelligence. The research is divided into three sections:section 1 we chose the middle school teachers in ShanDong as our test objects by adopting open-ended questionnaire to explore their emotional experience. We aim to find the features of their emotional experience; section 2 we tested and found the features of emotional intelligence of present middle school teachers by using the emotional intelligence questionnaire; section 3 basing on the past two sections, we adopted the behavior event interview to research on the competency features of middle school teachers from the perspective of emotional intelligence, we intended to build the model of competency features of middle school teachers from the perspective of emotional intelligence through the research.Researching finding:(1) the group of middle teachers is high emotional, the emotion they experience in practical working is rather negative:(2) their degree of emotional intelligence is good, and they scored 3.5 averagely in the questionnaire. Among the four dimensions, their ability of emotional perception is the best, but the ability of emotional expression the worst and the abilities of emotional understanding and emotional management are in the middle level. There are evident discrepancies in the aspect of grade, gender and school age of middle school teachers, mainly including that the junior high school teachers' level of emotional intelligence is higher than that of senior high school teachers, and female teachers are better in emotional perception and emotional expression than male teachers. With the increase of age, teachers'level of emotional perception is rising. The emotional intelligence of the group of prominent teachers is higher than the group of normal teachers. (3) The model of competency features of middle school teachers includes 6 feature groups and 28 competency features. The 6 feature groups are:personality trait, relational characteristics, cognitive characteristics, emotional characteristics and characteristics of management. And the group of personality trait includes 5:patience, tolerance, enthusiasm, confidence and the susceptive ability. The group of relational characteristics includes 5:taking care of students, cooperation relation, caring for the needs of students and teachers, understanding others, a sense of identity; the group of achievement characteristics includes 6:a sense of responsibility, a sense of efficiency, ability of communication, cooperative spirit, self-motivation and strain capacity. The group of cognitive characteristics includes 3:thinking flexibility, planning creativity and self-consciousness. The group of emotional characteristics includes 7: sensitivity, emotional awareness, empathy, and emotional expression, and emotional integration, emotional stability, empathic ability.
