In order to make up for the defect that IQ cannot fully and effectively estimate individual achievement,psychological researchers put forward the concept of Emotional Intelligence,wh ich corresponds to and developed from the idea of IQ.Emotional Intelligence is now a new he ated field in the study of emotion regulation at home and abroad.It is of great theoretical and practical significance to explore the emotional flexibility's mediating effect in emotion regulat ing self-efficacy promoting emotional intelligence of students in junior high school.Through discussing the relations of emotion regulating self-efficacy,emotional intelligence and emotio nal flexibility,the author tries to build the theoretical framework of the mediating effect of emo tional flexibility in emotion regulating self-efficacy and the promotion of individual emotional intelligence,so as to put up some strategies and suggestions on the promotion and cultivation of adolescents' emotional intelligence.This study adopts The Scale of Emotion Regulating Self-efficacy,The Emotional Flexibil ity Scale and The Emotional Intelligence Scale to carry out a questionnaire survey among the students from 7 junior high schools in Guangdong Province,from junior one to junior three ye ars.According to the statistical processing and analysis of the 945 valid questionnaires,the fol lowing three main conclusions can be drawn:(1)There is a significant positive correlation among emotional regulating self-efficacy,emotional flexibility and emotional intelligence.Dividing the emotion regulating self-efficacy into 5 dimensions: expressing happiness,pride,anger,frustration and guilty,each dimension al so has a significant positive correlation with emotional intelligence,among which,the dimensi on of expressing happiness shows the most significant correlation with efficacy and the emoti onal intelligence.(2)Emotional flexibility plays an important mediating role in the emotional intelligenc e' promotion of the emotion regulating self-efficacy in junior high school students,which acts as a partial mediating effect.Dividing the emotion regulating self-efficacy into 5 dimensions: expressing happiness,pride,anger,frustration and guilty,results show that the emotional flexi bility also plays an partial mediating role in each of the 5 dimensions in the process of efficacy promoting students' emotional intelligence level.(3)The mediating effect features a rather robustness of emotional flexibility in the proc ess of emotion regulating self-efficacy promoting junior high school students' emotional intelli gence level.The conclusion of the significant mediating effect that emotional flexibility plays in the r elation of emotion regulating self-efficacy emotional intelligence,can provide certain theoreti cal basis and guidance and intervention strategy recommendations for assessment and predicti on of the emotional intelligence of junior high school students.
