Study On The Systematization Of University Alumni Information Collection

While alumni are important resources for the development of Universities, the world-renowned universities regard alumni resources as inexhaustible wealth of university development. Looking from the timeline of China's Alumni Work progress, the development of our Alumni Work can be traced back to the late 1800s, but not until the 1980s substantive Alumni Work had been gradually launched, and after the 1990s alumni work had been gradually spread up in our universities. In recent years, alumni of the university become the object of concern in the field of higher education. Universities have begun to establish alumni work-related organizations, and the rapid advance of alumni resources development projects.But in the rapid exploitation of Alumni Resource Development, many universities in China ignore the Alumni Information Acquisition which is in the basic position of Alumni Work, so that the current organization of alumni work does not have a more complete and rigorous alumni information gathering-integrating system. Many universities do not have a scientific concept of Alumni Information Acquisition, and the information acquisition methods and results reflects strong disorder. Therefore there is an urgent need to establish a systematic mechanism to support further development of Alumni Work Information Acquisition.In order to keep abreast with the world's leading universities in alumni work, our universities have a long way to be explored. This paper firstly uses the experience of the three information acquisition models of government information management, and it conducts the integration of characteristics and elements of the concept which can be used in the Universities' Alumni Work by splitting-extracting the three models; Secondly, this paper selects X University, which is a representative and comprehensive research university in China, as the research object, and analyze the whole process of its Alumni Information Collection from three dimensions; Through the comparative analysis of the relatively perfect alumni information acquisition process of State University of New York at Albany which is a representative public university in America, this paper summarizes the experience that can be used for reference for China's universities, and explores a set of systematic Alumni Information Acquisition system suitable for Chinese universities.
