It is a wide range of scientific and strong divergent thinking for senior biological knowledge. During the process of teaching practice in the tutorial school, the absence of students ' learning initiative makes teachers upset. In order to search the way to improve the biological learning initiative of students' and to optimize the teaching quality in the area for research purpose, This paper tries to explore some effective teaching methods which can be referenced through the practice research.Firstly, 118 volunteers were given the biological learning motivation and strategy questionnaire to explore the initiative. The survey result shows different levels of motivation and strategy during senior students. Meanwhile, there is a certain positive correlation between learning motivation and learning strategy for the middle school students. The lower level strategy was usually employed by some inactive learning motivations, such as surface motivation. While students who have learning motivation of achievement show higher dependence on the parents and teacher's affirmation and instruction. At the same time, students with deep motivation in practice pay more attention on explore and research.After analyzing the lack of biological learning initiative in the area. Through the literature and summarized, we developed the specific measures to improve and enhance learning initiative from the following three aspects : 1. Creating a good humanities learning environment for students; 2. Stimulating students ' internal motivation;3. Helping students with the learning strategies and methods. Meanwhile, teachers should always pay attention to improve the request on students during the daily education and teaching.After almost one semester of observation and research, the method of interview was adopted to study the changes in students' motives and actions. The observation and analysis show that the learning initiative of students can be improved graduallythrough targeted measures, and this improvement requires a long time. At the beginning of the study, the teachers and parents impacted on the learning initiative(dominated by achievers motivation) deeply, But after a long time, the grow up of high level learning initiative is possible.
