The Open University MOOC Teaching's Implementation Mechanism And Its Revelation

The Open University took the lead in pushing the MOOC teaching implementation in UK, which has formed a relatively sound MOOC teaching mechanism. This study analyses the Open University MOOC teaching's implementation mechanism systemically from five aspects, including MOOC platform, faculty team, curriculum development, teaching mode and quality assurance through literature method, and case method. At last, this study summarizes characteristics of the Open University MOOC teaching implementation mechanism: local MOOC platform, professional teaching team,high quality courses, standard teaching pattern and systematic teaching safeguard.Based on the present situation of Chinese university MOOC teaching, drawing lessons from the Open University MOOC teaching's implementation mechanism, this paper put forward the enlightenment to promote Chinese university MOOC teaching.Firstly, Chinese Universities ought to promote the construction of local MOOC platform. Basing on school's real circumstance, Chinese Universities should construct characteristic MOOC platform, strengthen the multiple and extensive cooperation with the outside world, ensure MOOC platform's openness, strengthen MOOC platform's social experience, improve the operating function of platform, Strengthen the MOOC platform's technical support and explore effective MOOC commercial mode.Secondly, Chinese Universities ought to establish professional MOOC teachers team. Chinese universities should set up a professional MOOC teachers team, shift the MOOC teachers professional role, strengthen the MOOC teachers' professional knowledge, improve the MOOC teachers' professional ability and improve MOOC teacher's professional spirit.Thirdly, Chinese Universities ought to develop high quality MOOC course.
