Accident harm accident is the first factor to threat to children's life, increasingly cause social attention. Preschool children's physical and mental development is not yet mature, the cognition of the dangerous situation and potential dangers of predictability is not high, self-protection ability is weak, is accidental injury of the high-risk groups. As a result of rural characteristic culture, the limitation of geographic environment and economic development level,rural children's safety consciousness is weaker, rural children's accidental injury incidence and mortality rates far higher than that of urban children. Based on this, this study will from the children's cognitive level to potentially dangerous situations, cognitive features and cognitive problems that exist in the three aspects to explore the basic status of rural children on potentially dangerous situation cognition.This study selected 12 categories of typical rural hazardous events, each type of event to determine the four to five different levels of dangerous situation, involving a total of 56 dangerous situations, dangerous situations and then made the picture.Using situational picture test check and interview research methods of combining,test Tianshui a rural kindergartens small, medium, large three age classes for a total of 120children's cognitive level and ability to potentially dangerous situations. Judging from potentially dangerous situations, explain the reasons and response measures three aspects of rural children explore the overall level of awareness of the potential dangerous situations. Studies have found that rural children as follows: 1. The cognition of potentially dangerous situation in general in the medium level; 2. On "if there is a danger" judgment accuracy is higher than response measures and reasons; 3.Intuitive and strong awareness of the dangers of the situation is better than hidden danger situational awareness;4.Overall preschoolers in middle-class children cognitive's fastest-growing to dangerous situations.On this basis further analyzes and summarizes the children's cognitive characteristics of potentially dangerous situations and possible problems in this cognitive characteristics. In the aspect of cognitive characteristics:1. Understanding ofthe potential danger has experienced from surface to deep, from direct to indirect process; 2. The judgment of potential dangers from scratch, from not to conform to the objective facts; 3. To understand the dangers around their own special thinking,narrow the scope of dangerous fact; 4. There was a significant correlation between the cognition of "explanation" and "response measures".On the problems existing in the cognitive aspect:1. Lack of a sense of crisis in the potential danger of the environment;2. Ignore the potential danger to "own" security may cause the threat;3.Because the attribution errors could lead to more serious consequences; 4. It is difficult to understand the danger situation which has certain hidden danger.In addition, the factors that affect the children's cognition are discussed briefly.Children's awareness of the potential danger situation is found to be affected by the children themselves, kindergarten factors, parents' factors and the risk factors. Finally,it puts forward some suggestions on the safety education of the rural children,according to the basic situation of the children's cognition and the factors that affect the children's cognition.
