Quality is the life and the eternal pursuit of higher education.Indeed,ensure the quality of higher education is the main trend of the development of higher education nowadays.As an important means of higher educational quality assurance,the social evaluation of university has developed so vigorously in the new period of the change that quality of higher education has been more focus on the value pursuit of stakeholders.Meanwhile,some relevant problems have emerged.Therefore,This research select the value of the social evaluation of university as a research focus, aiming at doing a value analysis on the social evaluation of university.The research based on the theoretical hypothesis that value recognition are important factors which restrict the development of the social evaluation of university.And the problems existing in the practice largely stems from the conflicts of subjects'value choice.Further development of the social evaluation of university needs to properly coordinated to these conflicts.Value is the measure of good and bad, good and evil.Value analysis is the basis of understanding the necessity and importance of the social evaluation of university rationally.Also,it is the premise of finding practical problems that exist in the process of implementation.The social evaluation of university is a public activity that social forces makes judge on process and results of university.Its content and properties determined that the value analysis of social evaluation of university is necessary.In addition,under the current situation that he philosophical paradigms is shifting from epistemology to axiology,the conception of higher education quality has also turned to pay attention to stakeholders'value appeal. Thence,carry ing out a value analysis on the social evaluation of university meets the trend of the time.Values of the social evaluation of university lie on that the existence and attributes of the social evaluation of university have positive significance for each subject.The system of the social evaluation of university is complex,including multiple subjects.Interaction between these subjects will inevitably form a complex value relation,promoting diversified development of value.Analysis from the perspective of the three main subjects of higher education,namely government, universities and the society,the social evaluation of university has values of management, education and service.The central thesis of this article is that the three values should be organized reasonably, operated orderly,constituting the value system of the social evaluation of university together.The social evaluation of university is a process of choice and competition about value.At present, the problem in evaluation is virtually embodied in conflict between multiple values and consequently accompanied by a series of contradictions in value orientation, content and methods and so on.These value conflicts had lead to serious consequences,which bring in negative effects not only for the social evaluation of university,but also for subjects of value.Therefore, in order to promote the sustainable development of higher education,we should prompt the subjects coming to an agreement in seeking to promote the quality of talent training, the development of scientific research and social service according to the cause of value conflicts.
