In modern society,learning English has a variety of means as well as methods and curricular resources used by teachers in the classroom are endless.It is no longer the period that teachers can only utilize a piece of chalk and a textbook in modern classroom any more.It seems to be an increasingly widespread phenomenon that there are multiple curricular resources in modern English classroom.With the rapid development of information technology,mankind has entered the era of mobile Internet,micro-blog and we-chat have played an essential role in Chinese people's daily life and also the micro-lesson featured by “micro” is gradually becoming the leading trend of the campus.Nowadays,more and more teachers and Students manage to exert these new teaching and learning methods.In recent years,numerous micro-class competitions in China have successfully showed their qualities.Moreover,design and development of micro-lessons and also some related research have made many achievements.However,research on both the effectiveness and the advantages and defects of this kind of teaching method in primary school English class are very little.In order to develop a variety of curriculum resources and make full use of a variety of modern teaching methods so that educators can apply them reasonably and effectively to classroom teaching,the writer try to adopt the micro-lesson to the primary school English teaching,which can build a micro-class manner suitable for both teachers and students to improve the effectiveness of English courses.Therefore,I begin the design and practice of English teaching in primary schools based on micro-lesson,to find a better way to apply this advanced curriculum resources.The writer carried out two teaching experiments in the same primary school with two groups of students divided by their grades(the fifth grade and the sixth grade).We had ten experiments of micro lesson They include the micro lesson of grammar and the knowledge extensions.They are the micro lesson with “there be”,the past tense,the future tense,the present tense and the present progressive of grammar and the knowledge of extensions with the United Nations,the Harry Potter,the English supermarket,the Stonehenge and the famous places in China.In the research,I show two micro lessons.One is the micro lesson with the past tense and the other is the extra knowledge with “the United Nations”.Group one is the grammar teaching and the content I taught in the fifth grade students is the past tense,which is a phenomenon that the students had learned before.However,in their prior learning,the teacher did not explain the grammar systematically,but let the students do some conversation exercises by themselves as the subject provided by the textbook then have a quiz after that.By contrast,in this micro-lesson,teachers explain in detail the changes in the past tense of the verb “be” and changes in general questions and negative sentences.After the students watched,they were required to have a quiz again and the difficulty is equivalent with the former quiz based on the content of the micro-lesson.Finally,the writer draw a conclusion from the experiment that micro-lesson indeed plays an important supporting role in this part of pupils grammar understanding,students of grammar exercises The correct rate is greatly improved.Another experiment is about the teaching of English knowledge extensions of the United Nations.Firstly,test the students before and after having the micro-lesson respectively and then compare and analyze the result to investigate how much they have comprehended the content.Finally,I draw the conclusion that the micro-lesson indeed has a great help to the teaching of the students in the aspect of knowledge expansions.This thesis utilizes qualitative research methods,aiming to conduct research and analysis of data for multiple classes of different types of micro-lesson Lesson to clear micro-lesson learning English which favorable or unfavorable factors have English teaching in primary schools pupils will use,thereby find the best way to enable micro-lesson can be better applied to primary school English classroom teaching.The thesis can be divided into six chapters.The first chapter is the introduction.In this chapter,the writer mainly introduces the research background,purpose and significance of the study and the needs for research and other related content.The second chapter is an overview of relevant theories.In this chapter,the writer mainly discusses about the definition,concepts,characteristics and advantages of the micro-lesson.Besides,the writer also summarizes the current research on both international and domestic micro-class to identify the feasibility of this study.The third chapter is theoretical foundation.In this chapter,the writer talks about the theories which guide the autonomy learning in Micro lesson.The theory of the research contains instructional theory,structuralism theory,humanism theory and meta-cognitive theory.The fourth chapter is research on current status.In this chapter,the writer explores the role of micro-lesson played in primary school English teaching aspects of the new class with the methods of questionnaires as well as comparative research,which obviously shows the function as well as advantages of the micro-lesson in primary school English class for students especially in the new teaching.The fifth chapter is result and analysis.In this chapter,the writer collects the data from questionnaires and practical examples in the class and analyzes the results with specific figures to figure out what advantages can micro-lesson have in primary school English classroom teaching.Moreover,the writer also explores some scientific and reasonable teaching methods of the micro-lesson for primary school students.The sixth chapter is the conclusion.In this chapter,by comparing the data,tables and other analysis,the writer draw a conclusion that the micro-lesson English teaching in primary schools have a supporting role to play.Additionally the writer also discovers some drawbacks in this research and makes a plan about the direction of her teaching work in the future.
