Autism is one kind of early communication skill development disorders that originates in infants. It is characterized by impaired social interaction, communication skills, and restricted and repetitive behavior. The prevalence of autism shows a rising trend in recent years so that it has been drawn great attentions of society. The “three-early”(early find, early diagnosis, early treatment)plans have become agreements of education of autism in the world. It is very important to implement effective education to autistic children with good autism assessment tools. In 2013,American Psychiatric Association announced the new autism diagnostic criteria of DSM-5,which has significant changes compared with older version. The research develops initial development assessment scales for autistic children based on core symptoms of autism. This paper proposes the basic framework of development assessment scales for autistic children. It takes exploratory factor analysis for preliminary questionnaires and obtains three subscales: social interaction, communication, repetitive behaviors and the total of 50 assessment items in the formal scale. On the reliability,Cronbach’s Alpha coefficient of subscales is.850-.893.By using split-half method, the coefficient of subscales is 828-.901.On construct validity, the correlation coefficient of subscales scores, subscales and scale scores are.628-.902.In criterion validity, the subscales scores between autistic children and normal children,attention-deficit hyperactivity disorder, mental retardation, developmental delay, have significant differences. The critical of scale is 164.Overall,the results of the research are the preliminary development of assessment scales of children with autism spectrum disorder. The scale has relative ideal validity and reliability, which meets the basic requirements of scale development and can be used as assessment for autistic children.
