With the increasing incidence of autism, autism has received more and more attention. The etiology of autism is not yet clear, there is no effective treatment, and there are significant differences among children with autism. Therefore, professional assessment and intervention methods have become an indispensable part of the rehabilitation process of autism.Assessment is the premise of intervention, and professional and effective assessment reports are very important for the development of personalized intervention programs. In the current assessment of autism, traditional scale assessment is the main method, and appropriate questionnaires and observations are used as an aid. This traditional assessment method requires a high level of professionalism and experience for assessors and is easily influenced by subjective factors. With the development of information technology, computer technology aids have begun to be applied in the field of special education. However, few studies have used computer games to assess children with autism. The computer game environment is safe, easy to operate, and can provide objective assessment results. Therefore,a computer game assessment system was designed in this study.Through the comparison with the traditional PEP scale assessment results, the effectiveness and feasibility of computer game assessment for autism were explored. In this study, the evaluation project was first designed and implemented, followed by an empirical study to obtain assessment data. Finally, conclusions were drawn from analysis of the assessment data.In the assessment project, this study selected the PEP scale in six aspects of perception, fine movements,hand-eye coordination, cognitive performance, oral language cognition and relationship emotions to conduct assessment experiments. At the same time, combined with cognitive psychology, child cognitive theory, special child psychology and human-computer interaction theory,we designed 14 assessment games to correspond with the PEP scale. The assessment experiment was conducted at an autism rehabilitation center in Wuhan.A total of 30 children were evaluated.Finally,28 valid data were collected for analysis. In the course of the experiment, scale assessments were conducted on children with autism, followed by computer game assessments and the results of the assessment were recorded. Finally, the statistics of the assessment data were collected, and the Reliability and Pearson correlation analysis were performed using SPSS software.Combined with the experimental records and data analysis results, the following conclusions are drawn:1)The assessment results based on computer games can reflect the assessment results of the PEP scale. The assessment results of computer games are consistent with the assessment results of the PEP scale.Computer games can accurately assess the abilities of children with autism in all aspects and prove the assessment of computer games is feasible and effective.2)Computer game assessment is more attractive to children than the PEP scale assessment method, and it is more likely to cause children to be interested in assessment and maintain a longer period of attcntion.3)Computer game assessment results arc more accurate, easier to provide quantitative indicators, and easy to manage.
