| At present, China’s higher education is in the period of great change. The increasing expansion, management difficulty and talent competition of university show that the internal organization and the external environment need university management specialization. As the manager and leader of the university, university president should abandon the old concept and idea of "ranking of officials, get rid of the administrative level and become professional management experts. As a result, the professionalism of university president not only becomes the needs of the development of society and education in our country, but also an important link in perfecting the modern university system with Chinese characteristics.Therefore, in this paper, we pick up university president professionalism, the academic hot issue on the basis of existing research results both at home and abroad. We try to grasp and analyze the professionalism of university presidents in China more comprehensive. This study illustrate the problem of university president professionalism in China from four aspects:the development of the university president in China, the background of professional university president in our country, the achievements and facing problems of the university president professionalism in China. By using the method of comparative study of the development of higher education and the principal professionalization of United States, Britain, Japan, three representative developed countries, we could find the effective references for the professional development of university presidents in China.According to the study, at present, the development of university president professionalism in China has three major problems, therefore, this article from the perspective of macro, medium and micro three puts forward to updating the concept of higher education, promoting the system construction, solving the institutional barriers and establishing and improving the rector of the university professional supporting mechanism. Also various departments need to work together and the whole reform work should not be isolated. And we need to establish system inside and outside and fundamental and supportive reforms in order to support the development of higher education in our country. |
