In the ordinary high school curriculum system, English is important,which is a foundation course, also a main course. With the acceleration development of Curriculum Reform, the achievements of high school English Curriculum Reform are more outstanding, English teachers made progress in teaching concept, teaching methods, teaching means, students made progress in English learning methods and the ability to "do things" in English,which suggests that English Curriculum Reform is successful. But at present,because of the influence of examination-oriented education, “ knowledge only” ?“score only” remains the guiding role, students rely too much on teachers, students lack of autonomous learning method and ability,their comprehensive language using ability cannot get healthy development.Teachers focus too much on the teaching practice and "how to teach", while less on the students' subjectivity,and "how to learn",therefore,the students cannot learn effectively and independently.Teachers are still the "main body" of the classroom, cramming and knowledge-feeding teachingpattern is the only, the method can't promote students to think independently,participate actively and develop independently, students are often passive and have no time to think, it's difficult to consolidate and have chance to use knowledge.High school English Curriculum Reform get into the deep water area, the quality improvement of English teaching get into the slow lane. How to reform? Where is the way? This is a new problem for high school English teaching at present, is also a new opportunity for teachers to think and explore.The New Senior High School English Curriculum Standard requires :the design and implementation of high school English curriculum is good for optimizing students' learning methods and students can bring out learning potential, form effective learning strategies and improve autonomous ability through observation, experience, exploration etc. High School English Course Overall Goal requires……in compulsory education to make students know the aim to learn English and improve their autonomous and cooperative learning ability,help students form the effective learning strategies,cultivate the learners' comprehensive ability of using language.The study found that the major breakthrough in the high school English teaching should be put on the cultivation of students' autonomous learning ability. Therefore, optimizing the learning methods, improve students' autonomous learning ability and promote students to form effective strategies of independent thinking, autonomous exploration, effective development is an important goal and task for the High School English Curriculum Reform and also the starting point and the foothold of this study.Literature shows that, in view of the development needs of learners,building effective learning strategies actively is significant for cultivating learners' autonomous learning ability and learning effect. However, the study of high school students' autonomous learning ability is not many, mature cases are rare. Based on these findings, the author with great interest and enthusiasmchose a high school in remote area as a case to study and practice, Senior one students were chosen as the study object and the practice and exploration of students' autonomous learning ability was carried out.Senior One Students in one middle school of Guyuan was investigated and studied on their English autonomous learning with the method of empirical study. Based on the theory of autonomous learning, autonomous learning plan for Senior one students was designed and the running effect is verified. The experimental results show the improvement of the students' English autonomous learning ability can be achieved when the plan is designed and exercised properly.In study,the author uses Excel to collect and analyze the results of the questionnaire and exam results, the conclusions are as follows: through the implementation of English autonomous learning plan, the students' English level has been improved, especially for the middle grade students and the students' awareness of autonomous learning has been improved.
