Research On Community Work On The Social Bias Faced By The Migrant Children

The labor transfer between the rural areas and cities was a phenomenon produced by conforming to the historical development trend and the construction tendency of urbanization and modernization, from which appeared the peasant-worker group. With their time-lapse of going to town to work, the problem of their children has also been a regular attendant phenomenon. In 2006, the report of world children's situation UNICEF(United Nations international children's Emergency Fund) pointed out that there were at least 19.81 million migrant children in China. It is clear that the migrant children in China have gradually become a huge group. However, nowadays the implement of social protection and various policy measures on the migrant children do not reach the designated position. The floating population and their children as the city's new group, are encountering discrimination of different extent by economic status, cultural ideological bias, and the misconceptions in self-identity and identity exclusion. Therefore, how to create a better environment for floating children, to better promote the floating children's social integration, is particularly important and urgent.In the existing study of migrant children, the majority of which come from the field of psychology and pedagogy. The study from the aspect of social work is mainly on group work study and case study. Community work study is rare. The existing research focuses on solving problems about migrant children's city life, psychological, and other fields.Under this background, the article makes some beneficial attempts and exploration from the perspective of social community work. Based on the community work in Wuhan L community, the article tries to analysis and research the practice of changing the present situation of the floating children's social bias of the community residents. In the research,interview method, questionnaire method and participatory observation method are used to obtain data, the advantage perspective theory and cognitive theory are the supportive theory. The research results show that the method of community work on changing the social bias of the community residents has certain feasibility and effectiveness. However whether the effect of community work will continue remains to be further explored.
