The background of knowledge-based economy and the further development of entrepreneurship education in colleges and universities require us to explore the entrepreneurship education basing on various specialties, and the core is the combination of entrepreneurial education and professional education. Among these, the specialty of science and engineering depends on its disciplinary advantage, and then forms distinctive technology entrepreneurship education during the process of development of entrepreneurship education. American colleges and universities entrepreneurship education is a world leading position in that its technology entrepreneurship education starts early and its development is relatively mature. Furthermore, it has accumulated the rich practical experience. Thus, the study of it can provide certain reference and help for the development of technology entrepreneurship education of the specialty of science and engineering in our country’s colleges and universities.This dissertation selects the technology business plan of the engineering college of Leland Stanford Junior University as the object of study to introduce the development process of this plan; expounding the “teaching – research – outreach” trinity entrepreneurship education system in details; illustrating the security system of the plan from the aspects of organizations and agencies, funds, teachers, student and teaching; analyzing the practical effects of the plan. Through the comprehensive analysis of technology entrepreneurship program, we have summarized the following characteristics: engineering institutes as the implementing subject; technology entrepreneurship as the core; integration of engineering education and entrepreneurship education; on the basis of strong entrepreneurial network of Stanford University; innovative training mechanism in collaboration with Silicon Valley.In China, the dilemma for Polytechnic Institutions to develop technology entrepreneurship education is an important factor which restricts the development of enterprise education in China’s universities. Taking advantage of the useful experience of the technology innovation project of Stanford University, we can provide some reference for the further development of entrepreneurship education in China. Specifically, China’s science and technology institutions can promote the further improvement of entrepreneurship education in the following six aspects: exerting the advantage of science and technology and focusing on the development of technology entrepreneurship education; shifting the implementing subject from schools to colleges gradually; establishing the core organization of entrepreneurship education system and ensuring the implementation of the system; carrying out various extracurricular activities and improving the practice system of entrepreneurship education; strengthening the faculty of entrepreneurship education and forming an excellent team of entrepreneurial mentors; making full of University Science Park to support entrepreneurship education.
