Touhu is not only one of the classical rites recorded in The Book of Rites, but also a prevalent way to recreation. Based on collection and collation of Touhu related literature, like The Book of Rites, The New Rite of Touhu, the author studied how did Touhu transform from rite to recreation.Starting with the research of Touhu in The Book of Rites, the author figured out the who-what-where-how question about the rite of Touhu, and the sense of the particular rite.Secondly the author analysed the gamification process of Touhu, divided it to literatus' recreation and the game of common people two stages. During this process, some Confucians, represented by Sima Guang, struggled against the process and tried to put Touhu back to the right way as a rite. Unfortunately, they failed, according to the Touhu related literature in Ming & Qing Dynasty. Touhu polarized to two extremes, total secularization and a zombie of Rite.
