The promotion and implementation of our national youth campus football program aims at expanding football population and reserving football talents,as well as promoting the all round development of the youth.The healthy and sustainable development of youth campus football program depends on various factors,including not only governmental guidance and practice by schools of different level,but also support from both society and families,among which social and family support play a significant role.The effective implementation of this program can only be possible by a systematic integration of participation from school,society and family.Current studies mainly focus on support from school and government,whereas support from society and family needs more attention.Therefore,to further reform and development of youth campus football program in Suzhou city,which has already enjoyed a positive momentum,this article analyzes the effect of social and family support on the implementation of the program.Based on literature research,questionnaires and expert interviews,this article interviews a sample of over 430 students and their parents as well as 30 coaches in different football clubs in Suzhou,analyzes the current situation of youth campus football program in Suzhou City with a focus on the influence social and family support on the program,aiming to provide reference for future policy making and the sustainable development of local youth campus football program.The main conclusions are as follows:1.The youth campus football program generally enjoys a positive momentum in Suzhou City.Over 50% of schools claim that they have plenty of students participating in this activity;more than 60% of the coaches are satisfied with the equipment and funds of their school;64% of the coaches approve of support from school leaders;and 60% of coaches agree that football is a popular activity in theirschools.The coaching teams tend to be younger.2.As is indicated by the survey,the students whose family income is over RMB 5,001 per month tend to participate more in football activities than those who are from low-income family in a significant way;what’s more,students whose parents hold a master’s degree or higher tend to take part in the football activities for more times.This result proves that students’ frequency of participation in and their preference for football activities are affected by their family income,their parents’ education level and the attitudes of their parents.3.Parents’ involvement in the football activities are mainly reflected by their sending their children to football training and matches and then picking them back.Over 80% of parents hold a positive attitude towards their children playing in school football team.They also watch their children’s game and cheer for them.Thus,it proves that higher income and education level play a positive role in promoting students’ interest and their willingness to participate in football activities.4.The cooperation between schools and clubs in Suzhou provides competent professional coaches for students.Schools provide a steady supply of back-up football talents for local clubs,which lays a solid foundation for future talent selection.The positive interaction between schools and society has formed.Besides,government policy also plays an important role in the implementation of youth campus football program in Suzhou.
