The hidden curriculum has advantages and functions which dominant curriculum cannot replace in school curriculum resources. It has a subtle influence on students' emotion, attitude values and so on. Reasonable development of English hidden curriculum can effectively promote the efficiency of EFL English as a foreign language) teaching and learning in senior high schools, laying the foundation for EFL learners' lifelong learning. The hidden curriculum in schools mainly includes the following four aspects, namely conceptually hidden curriculum, materially hidden curriculum, institutionally hidden curriculum, and psychologically hidden curriculum.The author wants to learn the situation of senior students' satisfaction of the hidden curriculum and the correlation of students' satisfaction and achievements. So the study will investigate the situation of students' satisfaction of English hidden curriculum. The present study attempts to solve the following three problems:the situation of senior students' satisfaction of the hidden curriculum, the correlation of students' satisfaction and achievements and the solutions to improve the efficiency of English learning. In order to get correlated data, this study investigates three senior high schools (high school for foreign language, city key senior high school, city ordinary high school) in Enshi region in Hubei province by questionnaire.This paper consists of five chapters:Chapter one gives a brief introduction of the paper, concluding the Research background and the aims and significance of the present study as well as the organization of the thesis; Chapter two is the literature review, with firstly explaining the definition, features and the four aspects (conceptually hidden curriculum, materially hidden curriculum, institutionally hidden curriculum, and psychologically hidden curriculum) of hidden curriculum, secondly giving an introduction of the function of hidden curriculum, lastly introducing the related research on hidden curriculum abroad and at home; Chapter three is the research design, concluding the research questions, research participants, the instrument (questionnaire) and the data collection; Chapter four mainly focuses on the data analysis, which contains the analysis of the basic situation of the participants, the analysis of students' satisfaction with the four aspects of hidden curriculum, the analysis of their English achievements and the correlation between students' satisfaction and their achievements; Chapter five is the conclusion part which gives a summary of the thesis, dealing with the major findings, implications, limitations of the research and suggestions for future study.The followings are the major findings of the present research from data analysis,1. EFL learners are satisfied with the hidden curriculum in a whole. The learners' satisfaction with the hidden curriculum in Qingjiang School for Foreign Language is the highest, and the learners' satisfaction with the hidden curriculum in Enshi No.2 Senior School is the lowest.2. The learners get the highest achievement in the most satisfied Qingjiang School for Foreign Language; the learners get the lowest achievement in the least satisfied Enshi No.2 Senior School.3. The improvement of the school hidden curriculum for the EFL learners can improve the EFL learners'achievement in English learning.According to the findings, the author puts forward some implications of the study and gives some suggestions to leaders, teachers and EFL learners so as to improve the English teaching and learning.
