With the coming of the information age, information technology has gone deep into every field ofpeople’s life, changing the lifestyle. In this age of knowledge explosion, it is easy to get lost in a hugemassive of information, and hard to find efficient information, which calls for a higher information literacy.The previous education mostly focused on how to cultivate the information literacy of college students andteachers, but seldom on that of middle school students. Cultivating the information literacy of middleschool student mainly relies on Information Technology Curriculum (ITC) for a long time. However, thecultivation of information literacy is restricted to a lack of teaching periods for IT education of middleschool students. Meanwhile, expanding teaching periods for IT isn’t practical. Therefore, it becomes quiteimportant to resort to another way---hidden ITC, to help to cultivate information literacy of middle schoolstudents.Based on the previous study on hidden curriculum, this paper defines the concept of hidden ITC,and elaborates its features and classification. On the basis of the understanding of hidden ITC, thequestionnaire (for IT teachers), designed to see how the IT teachers know about the hidden ITC; Besides,questionnaires (for students and teachers respectively), based on the classification of hidden ITC, canshow its current situation. After release, recovery and analysis of the questionnaires done in every middleschool in City Kaifeng, with the help of SPSS19.0, I analyze the current situation of hidden ITC in middleschools of Kaifeng, and come to view that the hidden ITC is universal, and that most teachers, virtually, areapplying it more or less, and are also delighted to engage in developing it.; because of the limitation ofhardware, school leader’s overlook, and discipline teachers’ no cooperation, doesn’t function well.On the basis of the questionnaire analysis, this paper puts forward some practical measures tohelp develop the hidden ITC in middle students and some issues that should be noticed. The measures areas follow:1) on the construction of hidden ITC in curriculum integration: improve the traditional mode ofteaching and learning;2) on the construction of hidden ITC in the informational campus environment:encourage the students to actively participate;3) on the construction of hidden ITC in the purposefullyplanned social activities: integrate school and social. Issues that should be noticed:1) based on school reality;2) create better IT conditions and reduce individual differences betweens;3) the key to improvetheir literacy: help students come into good emotion and attitude;4) make rational use of IT;5) combinethe hidden ITC and the dominant ITC.
