In recent years, our country put more emphasis to early childhood education. The article analyzes the social background, content, development and implementation of the Curriculum and then summarizes the enlightenment to early childhood education of our country. In 1996, New Zealand Education Ministry published Te Wharik:Early Childhood Curriculum. As the first bilingual document in English and Maori and the first early childhood documentation in the world, Te Wh?riki is founded on the following aspirations for children:to grow up as competent and confident learners and communicators, healthy in mind, body and spirit, secure in their sense of belonging and in the knowledge that they can make a valued contribution to society. The curriculum begins with the four curriculum principles:relationships, holistic development, family and community and empowerment and five strands of learning outcomes:belonging, well-being, exploration, communication and contribution. The Curriculum also includes 18 goals and117 indicative outcomes.Te Wh?riki will be of great meaning and reference to promote the development of our country.
