ObjectiveSelf-esteem is the core of college Students' mental health, and is the premise of their stubjective initiative.Through the study of self-esteem of the private and public undergraduate college students,to explore the status, difference and correlation of self-esteem in different majors, different grades, different gender, and different sources in different types of colleges, and analyze the influence factors. So as to carry out targeted psychological guidance for college students, mobilize their subjective initiative, and finally provide the reference for the all-round education.MethodA stratified cluster sampling method was used, and undergraduate students were chosen from four colleges in Jinan,Shandong province. The students included four different majors from freshman to senior, and they were stratified according to different majors and different grades. The self-esteem scale and basic information questionnaire was used in this survey, and a total of 2560 questionnaires were issued,2016 valid questionnaires were withdrawn in the end with an effective rate of 78.75%.Epidata was applied to create database, and SPSS 20.0 software was used for data analysis.Results1.According to the present situation of private and public college students' self-este em,27.93%of college students had low self-esteem,and the detection rate of male students was 8.20%higher than that of female students. The highest high self-esteem detection rate was 35.5%in sophomore. The highest detection rate of low self-esteem was 31.4%in engineering students, and the lowest detection rate was25.6%in medicine specialty. The detection rate of low self-esteem was 7%higher in students from city than from rural areas. There was little difference in the detection rate of the low self-esteem wether only-child or not,and were 27.9%and 28%,respectively.And the difference was only 0.9%in students whether class Vadre or not.The students whose monthly family income o.f 2000 to 4000 yuan had the highest low self-esteem detection rate of 30.8%.The low self-esteem detection rate showed an increasing trend with the relationship between their parents, and the detection rates of low self-esteem results of self-esteem scale of college students between private and public college students showed that the average and standard deviation of self-esteem of private college students was 131.86±17.01,and the figure of public college students was 135.48±21.11.That means the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05),so private college students' self-esteem is lower than that of Public College Students. In the comparison of each factor in the self-esteem scale of College students, there was a significant difference in academic self-esteem,family self-esteem,altruistic self-esteem,overall self-esteem and self-esteem score(P<0.05).And the score of each self-esteem factor of private college students' was lower than that of Public College Students.Comparison of the yuan, and the score was lower in private college students.3.The college students in this survey were divided into high self-esteem group and low self-esteem group according to median self-esteem score.Multi factor Logistic regression analysis was used to explore the influencing factors of College Students' self-esteem.The survey found that age, gender, relationship with parents, school categories, whether the class cadre and grade were all the influencing factors of college students'self-esteem.Among these factors the relationship with parents was the most important, and the result showed that the risk of low self-esteem increased gradually with the alienation from their parents.Compared with the close relationship with their parents, the risk of low self-esteem in students who alienated from their parents increased by 3.53 times(OR=3.53,P<0.001).The risk of low self-esteem among students whose parents were strict was 5.47 times higher(OR=5.47,P<0.001).Conclusion and Advice1.In general, the detection rate of college students' low self-esteem was higher in male students than in female students, and engineering students were higher than other majors. Therefore,it is very important for the administrators of the engineering colleges with a.large number of male students to pay more attention to students' psychological health education, and improve college students' self-esteem.2.Multiple factors of self-esteem analysis showed that private college students'self-esteem was lower than that of public college students, especially in interpersonal self-esteem.So in the modern society of mass innovation, private colleges should create more opportunities for students to communicate, encourage them to participate in social practice, take a variety of measures to enrich and improve themselves, and improve college students' self-esteem finally.3.The relation between parents was positively correlated with the level of self-esteem.Therefore,the parents of college students should pay more attention to their children, give them more care and encouragement,so as to improve college students'self-esteem,and ensure their psychological health. In addition, college administrators can establish home school alliance platform to help parents to understand the situation and performance of their children in school, thus can communicate with them purposefully.
