Features,Structure And Effects Of Forgiveness In Young Adulthood Who Experienced A Breakup

On the basis of summarizing the literature of forgiveness,this study focuses on a special interpersonal forgiveness-lovelorn forgiveness,and explores the psychological process of the internal forgiveness of the lovelorn.Lovelorn injury is special as a kind of interpersonal injury.It is worth exploring that whether there is forgiveness process,its psychological mechanism and which factors affecte the process.This study uses three series of research.The first Research is an exploratory and descriptive study analyzing the content and characteristics of forgiveness after breakup.From the perspective of ecosystem,the level of self,the romantic relationship and external social support to explore the possible impact factors of lovelorn forgiveness.The purpose of the second study was to develop and validate a questionnaire which measures the forgiveness following the breakup of a non-marital relationship.A questionnaire including 13 items was developed and administered to a sample.consisting of 318 adulthood who broke their romantic relationship.Twofactor structure and these factors were named as Predecessors-forgiveness and Self-forgiveness.For the reliab for two factors were found as.843 and.913,respectively.To conclude,the questionnaire was found as reliable and valid instrument in measuring the forgiveness following the breakup.Study three is objective to explore the relationship between external control and lovelorn forgiveness,and study the mediating effect of co-attachment on them.There had significantly positive correlation among external control,co-attachment and forgiveness.Co-attachment could partly mediate the rela-tionship between external control and lovelorn forgiveness.The results of the study are as follows:(1)Lovelorn forgiveness questionnaire is reliable and valid which has two sub-scale of Predecessors-forgiveness and Self-forgiveness.(2)Love satisfaction,the degree of break up injury,the degree of acceptance of the break up reasons and lovelorn forgiveness are closely related;love satisfaction and Predecessors-forgiveness into a significant positive correlation,and Self-forgiveness significant negative correlation.(3)External control and co-attachment can effectively predict the level of lovelorn forgiveness;(4)Co-attachment to the external control of the impact of lovelorn forgiveness,play a part of the intermediary role.
